Senior Grant Glover on Black Voices in Journalism

Grant Glover, a fourth-year senior from Lockport, Illinois, has made the most of his time at the University of Iowa School of Journalism and Mass Communications. In addition to his SJMC coursework, Glover serves as co-editor of NURU, the National Association of Black Journalists’ Iowa publication.

Katie McCarver Placed 3rd in Hearst Journalism Awards Program

San Francisco – The top 10 winners in college feature writing are announced in the 61st annual William Randolph Hearst Foundation’s Journalism Awards Program, in which 103 undergraduate journalism programs at universities across the nation are eligible to participate. One hundred fifty feature writing entries from 79 universities were received in this competition.
We are proud to announce our own Katie Ann McCarver, placed third place for a $1,500 scholarship.

Seems helpful, right? What’s the problem?
Iowa Journalism Professor Melissa Tully receives grant to study health misinformation in Africa
