The School of Journalism and Mass Communication hosted its annual student exhibition and scholarship celebration on April 16, 2026.

Randy Evans and Robert A. Logan were inducted into the SJMC Hall of Fame during the spring 2026 ceremony.

Journalism students covered a mock NFL draft under real deadlines. Broadcast students produced a live show, breaking down selections and analyzing team needs.

SJMC senior Aidan Wirtz won the writing award for his story Dancing Differently. The award is given annually to recognize high-quality writing and storytelling from SJMC students.

Airiana Mohr and Campbell Wood, students in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, were recognized at the University of Iowa’s Finkbine Dinner for their leadership, academic achievement, and contributions to communication and media initiatives.

Timothy Arnold and Rebecca Obu received 2026 Stanley Award for International Research to support their work in Brazil and Eswatini, respectively.
