The Mount Vernon-Lisbon Sun and Solon Economist are weekly community newspapers owned and operated by The Daily Iowan.

The UI School of Journalism and Mass Communication has partnered with The Daily Iowan to hire reporting, design, and business interns to work at the the community papers.

Interns work alongside professional staff to produce original content published online and in print.

Internship application

Visit The Daily Iowan to apply and learn more about the reporting, design, and business positions. Interns will primarily work out of the Daily Iowan office in Iowa City but should expect to travel to Solon, Mt. Vernon, Lisbon and the surrounding communities. Student interns will be paid $13.00 per hour and will work 10-20 hours per week. Applications accepted year-round.
