Sydney Hofer has more than 20 years of experience in communications ranging from nonprofit and corporate public relations to employee communications and journalism.

She is currently an assistant director of strategic communications at Northwestern Mutual in Milwaukee. In her current position, she develops communications strategies focused on educating the company’s thousands of financial advisors and team members about underwriting and claims. She has also led employee benefits communications at NM.

In the early part of her career, she was a producer at local television stations - KWQC-TV in Davenport, Iowa and WTMJ-TV in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Sydney graduated from the University of Iowa in 1997 with degrees in English and Journalism. She then earned a master’s degree in communications from Marquette University. She lives in Germantown, Wis., with her husband, two sons and rescue dog.
