Daniel Valentine

Professional Advisory Board
Senior Manager, Tampa International Airport
Biography

Danny Valentine has worked in journalism and public relations for more than 10 years, including five years at the Tampa Bay Times (formerly the St. Petersburg Times) and currently as a spokesman at Tampa International Airport. He covered K-12 education, crime, and his fair share of weird Florida Man stories as a reporter. Now, he’s in charge of communicating Tampa International Airport’s $2.5-billion expansion, managing the airport’s social media portfolio, and leading customer feedback analytics. As a senior member of the communications team, he contributes to the overall messaging and strategic direction for one of America’s favorite airports. He has strong experience in government communications, messaging change, crisis communications, and building robust systems for tracking valuable customer data.

Danny recently obtained his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Florida (’19) with a focus in marketing. He is most interested in bridging the divide between communications and marketing to strengthen the airport’s messaging. He enjoys analytics and spends a good deal of his time turning qualitative feedback into essential reports. When not at a computer, he is often found checking out the airport’s construction sites.

Danny graduated from the University of Iowa with bachelor’s degrees in journalism and biology. Though he is most recently a Gator, he’ll always be a Hawkeye first. He and his wife live in St. Petersburg, Fla. with their young son, Arlo, who loves trucks, raiding the spice drawer, and has the cutest little dimple chin you’ll ever see.
