John Johnson

Academic Advisor
Biography

John Johnson is an academic advisor for undergraduates within the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, as well as the Department of History. John came to academic advising due to a desire to help students find their place in the University of Iowa community and to meet their academic goals.

John received his BA in History from Western Illinois University and then a Master’s in Divinity from Lincoln Christian Seminary. John first began working with college students at the University of Iowa as a minister through one of the religious student organizations on campus. Through this experience, he saw the many needs of college students and discovered ways to help students succeed.

John lives in Coralville with his wife and two children. When not on campus, he is generally spending time with his family, singing, cooking, or sometimes combining all three.
