Students in SJMC's photography capstone class and visual staff at the Daily Iowan collaborated to produce 2026 Year in Focus. The print and digital magazine showcases some of the best photography from the past year and explores some of the most important issues facing Gen Z. The magazine is a result of a semester-long collaboration between SJMC and the DI to create a meaningful visual project.
Students, faculty, staff, and visual storytellers attended the magazine launch and learned about the research, reporting, photographing, and design process behind the project.
