Community News Internships
The School of Journalism and Mass Communication (SJMC) and The Daily Iowan are currently hiring reporting, design, and business interns to work at the Mount Vernon-Lisbon Sun and Solon Economist.
The Mount Vernon-Lisbon Sun and Solon Economist are weekly community newspapers owned and operated by The Daily Iowan. Interns work alongside professional staff and students in various SJMC classes to produce original content published in print and online.

Applications for internships will be accepted at any time with the following upcoming priority deadlines:
Priority application deadlines:
- Spring 2025: January 15, 2025
- Summer 2025: April 15, 2025
- Fall 2025: June 15, 2025
