On Jan. 29, 2025, Zeynep Tufekci, Princeton’s Henry G. Bryant Professor of Sociology and Public Affairs, presented “Why We Can’t Fact-Check Our Way Out of Misinformation.” The lecture examined the history of fact-checking, communication difficulties and the need for trust, credibility and strong institutional transformations. Tufekci was brought to campus as part of the Li Chen Distinguished Lecture series.
