The way we consume news media has always evolved and changed. A relatively new medium to the scene, podcasts, are a growing outlet many people use to get their news. Professor David Dowling worked with Kim Fox and University of Iowa School of Journalism and Mass Communication PhD alumnus Kyle J. Miller on this study of the podcast medium. Using a set of genre conventions adapted and expanded from previous podcast and radio news scholarship, their research analyses the impact podcasting has on daily audio news production.
