Join us on April 13 at 2pm in AJB 105 for a conversation with filmmaker Steve James, focused on the politics and ethics of documentary work. James directed the 1994 documentary “Hoop Dreams,” in which two ordinary inner-city Chicago kids strive for the NBA draft. The documentary won 8 prestigious awards after its release and continues to influence how modern sports documentaries are filmed and received by audiences. We’ll have light refreshments in the rotunda after the conversation.
