Join us on April 13 at 2 p.m. in AJB 105 for a conversation with filmmaker Steve James, focused on the politics and ethics of documentary work. James directed the 1994 documentary Hoop Dreams, in which two ordinary inner-city Chicago kids strive for the NBA draft. The documentary won eight prestigious awards after its release and continues to influence how modern sports documentaries are filmed and received by audiences. We’ll have light refreshments in the rotunda after the conversation.
